Fender 1/6 Scale Mini Stratocaster

The legendary and venerable Fender Stratocaster guitar took guitar design to a higher level and became the voice of rock n roll. Featuring a comfort-contoured body, three single-coil pickups, and a synchronized tremolo system the Strat guitar has become the most popular guitar ever built. This 1/6 scale model guitar comes packaged on a blister card with many accessories including 3 mini picks, strap, shield, transmitter and guitar stand. (NOT PLAYABLE - For DISPLAY ONLY)
Customer Review: Mini Strat
I play a Stratocaster as my main guitar, and I even prefer it over my Les Paul, so I was intriguigued by a miniature Strat. I was expecting something similar to a Strat, but when I got it I was totally jazzed. The detail is unreal. They had gone to great effort to make everything exactly like the real one. It even has a pack of three picks. One thing is put it in a safe place to display it because in making the details in scale it is very delicate. I'm very careful not to damage it because it is a prize display I show to everyone who comes to my house. If you like guitars and unique detailed collectibles check it out. You'll love it. I do.

Playing a musical instrument can be one of the most exciting things for anyone. It is not only satisfying but also lucrative as a career. Although each instrument has its own charm and significance, guitar seems to be one of the most popular choices of all time. For any guitar lover, it must be a treat to watch a person playing guitar and its tune and rhythm is simply overwhelming.

However, it takes a long time for a guitarist to master the art of playing guitar so well. If you ask any guitarist about their preference on the sound of guitars, their unequivocal answer would be electric guitar. Over the years, the popularity of electric guitars has gone up and so has their sale. Even though you have been playing acoustic guitar for some time now, you will need proper guidance while buying an electric guitar.

Take a look at the following points before you hit an electric guitar store:

Budget:

The prices of electric guitars would start from $300 and upward. If you have a shoe-string budget, chances are that you won`t find high-end guitars such as Guild Benedetto Signature Model or Paul Reed Smith Santana II. However, the good news is, due to the computer aided woodworking equipments, even low-end electric guitars sound almost as well as their high-end counterparts.

Types of Electric Guitar:

Electric Guitars can be found in different depending on their body. Most electric guitars are made up of solid wood such as Alder, Ash, Mahogany and Basswood. Semi-hollow instruments such as Gibson`s ES-335 are popular because of their thinness and lightweight. On the other hands, there are electric guitars such as Gretsch Black Falcon which a true hollow-body and f-holes allowing the user to tune the guitar to resonate sounds as well as the acoustic guitars do.

Types of Music:

Whether you would want to buy a Gibson ES-5 or Fender Telecaster depends purely on what music you play most of the time. For instance, if you belong to a country band, you should choose an electric guitar that produces cleaner and brighter twang. Hence, you can pick a Stratocaster or Fender Telecaster to do justice to your county band. On the other hand, go for the Paul Reed Smith McCarty Hollowbody II if you are playing music in a jazz setting.

Number of Pick-ups:

Usually, modern electric guitars can be found in two different pick-ups such as single coils and humbuckers. While single coils will sound brighter with a pronounced attack, humbuckers will produce a warmer and darker tone. Some electric guitars can also have mix pick-ups. Guitars having more pick-ups will produce more tonal variations.

Electronics:

All standard electric guitars have a basic set of pick-up selector switch, volume and tone controls. Instruments such as the Eric Clapton Signature Stratocaster have an added feature which allows the player to adjust the warmer and flatter sound of the humbucker. There are also hybrid electric guitars such as synth guitar which are fitted with additional hardware for connecting them to a synth via a 13-pin RMC system. Electric guitar manufacturers are now putting more emphasis on guitars playability than their aesthetics.

Appearance:

The looks of electric guitars would vary greatly and it actually depends on you preference. Guitarists who are into death metal would hardly like a Fender Telecaster with a shell pink finish. Hence, now-a-days, electric guitar manufacturing companies produce guitars that are genre-specific.

Frets:

Many buyers do not care much about the frets; however, they are curial to the playability of electric guitars. For instance, electric guitars with smooth and playable neck will allow you to do hammer-on and pull-offs, bend notes, and deliver clean articulations at any positions of the neck. If the frets are tailored perfectly, the electric guitars will offer a superlative performance.

Fender Stratocaster Keychain

The short answer is yes. Vintage guitars are getting harder and harder to come by. Many of the large chains simply do not carry a lot of vintage, unless you live in bigger cities, and I do not. Even in large cities like Miami, NYC, L.A, etc, there are people waiting to snatch your vintage Fender guitar away from you. So, what to do?

eBay is the answer! Yes, it's true.

You can trust people on here, just look at their score on eBay and if it were in the 98%-99%, I'd say you were good to go. That's what I trust anyway. Then you can click on their username and find out what items they have sold previously.

This way, if they say they are selling vintage fender guitars or Fender custom shop guitars, you can see if this is true.

The Selection Just Can't Be Beat

Many stores only offer a handful of truly vintage Fender Strats. Not eBay. You'll find Strat makes and models, even Fender Custom Shops, relics and Masterbuilt Stratocasters. Not bad huh? If you love Vintage Fender guitars but can't afford one right now, check out the Fender Relics or Custom Shop guitars. PLUS, the Masterbuilt ones are incredible, right down to the original specks of that '57 Fender Stratocaster you've been eying.

Oh, and another tip: You don't want to buy a Vintage Fender Strat or Vintage Fender Telecaster from a guy selling comic books, right? So pay attention to their quality score next to their name on the top right and click their user name to see what else they have sold. Good luck finding YOUR perfect guitar!

Metallica's lead guitarist, Kirk Hammett, was listed as number 11 on Rolling Stones list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. While playing with Metallica, Hammett contributed to many songs that were huge hits, developed some killer riffs and earned himself and his band seven Grammy awards. Metallica is considered one of the best-known heavy metal bands and has produced many hugely popular albums, including its self titled album that sold 15 million copies. Four of Metallica's albums reached number one on the Billboard 200 and their combined record sales for all the albums are somewhere around 95 million. If you are a guitar player and would love to replicate Kirk Hammett's rock star success, take some tips from the man himself.

Hammett possesses a true love for playing the guitar and for music in general. This might explain why he claims to play his guitar 361 days out of the year. If you are looking for guitar tips from Hammett, the first one is to practice obsessively. Hammett started playing the guitar when he was 15 with an unimpressive guitar that he got from a Montgomery Ward catalogue. He decided he needed an amp to go with his guitar so he made one out of a shoebox and a four-inch speaker. Eventually, he got a job as a dishwasher at Burger King to finance his musical inclination. It wasn't too long before Hammett was able to upgrade to a Fender Stratocaster, and then moved on to his favorite of all time, a 1974 Gibson flying V. Another hint from Hammett is that you don't have to be in possession of the best equipment available. You just have to start somewhere and work with what you have until you get better and can upgrade. Hammett definitely didn't start out with the fanciest music gear, but his love of music and playing the guitar kept him going.

Hammett is a man who is constantly curious and interested in learning new things. He is quoted as saying "a life lived unexplored is a life not worth living." This character trait played out well for him on a few levels in his guitar career. His curiosity kept him experimenting with different techniques on his guitar in a quest to develop something truly unique. This brought about the "Frankenstein" technique that Hammett invented by using different pick-up and amp combinations. After Hammett joined Metallica, his desire to learn and explore gave him the motivation to join the ranks of some other guitar greats and take guitar lessons from Joe Satriani. This was a great move for his career because it bettered his skills as a well-rounded musician when he learned to play jazz, classical and blues from Satriani.

Lastly, Kirk Hammett is a humble guy. One night at 3:15 in the morning when he was touring with Metallica and staying in a hotel room, he composed the famous riff that is included in Metallica's most popular single "Enter Sandman". "Enter Sandman" was the first single from Metallica's self-titled album, which sold 15 million copies. Hammett could have considered himself a big time, accomplished musician at this point and stopped trying to improve his craft. However, even after Metallica's huge success, Hammet had the humility to admit that there was plenty more that he could learn about guitars. He enrolled in guitar classes at the local city college in San Francisco to continue improving his skills and working on his craft.

Overall, Kirk Hammett is a passionate guitar player who is consistent with his practice and devoted to learning and improving his skills. He remains humble even after the great success of his band and his music. These traits combine to make Kirk Hammett one of the greatest guitar players of all time.

Customer Review: Why...?
So if a PS3 40GB is only $399 and a Rockband package is $170... by my calculations that comes to $569 plus tax. Why would anyone pay $649 for this? Aren't bundles supposed to save you money, not cost you more...?
Customer Review: What a rip off!!
Why would anyone buy this bundle?? These two items retail for $600, don't spend over $800 to get them together. The only reason this even got one star is because it wouldn't let me leave it at none.

Not sure what's happening with me on this one, but it seems like the more I listen to it, the better 20/20 gets. This CD simply put is one of Spyro Gyra's best to date.

Refreshingly, this was one of those CDs I was able to just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

The nice thing about a CD like this is with this level of talent even if Smooth Jazz isn't your favorite style you still can't help but appreciate the greatness of the group.

Overall 20/20 is an outstanding release. What I call must have music. I give it two thumbs up and is most definitely a worthy addition to any Smooth Jazz collection. Truly an outstanding Smooth Jazz CD. One of those that is completely void of any wasted time, as each track is simply superb.

While the entire CD is outstanding the truly standout tunes are The Unwritten Letter [track 1], Three Sisters [track 4], and Rockaway To Sunset [track 10].

My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 5, Sweet Baby James. What a nice track!

Just as there are highly talented musical acts that never make the big time, there are musical acts that make the big time, only to never go anywhere. Some of these acts make the big time and make a fool of themselves, while others make the big time, make an impact, and make a quick getaway. Some are lucky enough to have at least one hit, while others are stuck with a few mediocre hits that come back to haunt them decades later. Some are loved for a while, only to fall from grace quickly, and some just never gain acceptance. The following is our list of the top five busted musicians, bands and solo acts who sang the wrong tune.

Milli Vanilli: Ah, Milli Vanilli. Just like our parents remember where they were when Elvis died, those of us who were children of the 1980s remember where we were when Milli Vanillis secret came out. The singers that brought us Girl You Know Its True, Milli Vanilli won a Grammy in 1990 for Best New Artist. This, however, was short lived after it was revealed that their talent had less to do with music, and more to do with lip singing. Still, those of us who were true fans didnt blame it on the duo; we blamed it on the rain.

Ashley Simpson: While performing on Saturday Night Live in fall of 2004, Ashley Simpson was caught pulling a Milli Vanilli when it was revealed she wasnt actually singing. This was followed by an ill-received performance at the Orange Bowl and a slug of condemnation. Still, Ashley Simpson has two huge things working for her: shes released two number one albums and shes young enough to bounce back from any criticism accrued. Plus, she can benefit from having her manager, who also happens to be her father, on her side. He seems just a tad crazy.

O-Town: A group that came together through the reality series, Making of the Band, O -Town got on the literal band wagon just a bit too late. As the boy band fad started to fade into the night, O-Town found that they were unable to gain substantial success. The group was together for only a short time and though they did release two albums, O-Town disappeared from the scene as quickly as they came into it. This is, however, old potatoes: the manager of the group, Lou Pearlman, apparently has more pressing worries on his mind.

Eddie Murphy: We love his stand up, we love his movies, we even love when he lends his voice to an animated donkey. We just dont love his music. Though he can actually hold a note quite well, the songs Eddie Murphy released have to be tunes that even he looks back on and sayswha??? Still, Eddie did have two hits with Put Your Mouth on Me and Party all the Time. The latter song was voted, in 2004, as number eight on the list of 50 Worst Songs of All Time by Blender magazine.

Gerardo: After playing the part of Ricky in the film, Cant Buy me Love, Gerardo Mejia became a singersort of. He was known more for his sexy appearance, his six packed abs, and his dance talent than he was for his booming voice. Still, he reached the top of the charts with his hit Rico Suave, a hit that admit it you know youve sang along with. One of the first performers to merge Latin and English, Gerardo occasionally calls himself the Latin Frank Sinatra. Uh.right.
